MANIT
Maulana Azad National Institute of Technology (MANIT), an Institute of National Importance, formerly known as Maulana Azad College of Technology (MACT), is India's one of the first eight Regional Engineering Colleges. The institute has been named after the great scholar, educationist and the first Education Minister of Govt. of India, Maulana Abul Kalam Azad. The Govt. of India and Govt. of Madhya Pradesh jointly sponsored the Institute in 1960 to attract bright young students across the country. Presently, along with about 200+ faculties and 4000 students, the institute is successfully meeting the objectives of producing skilled manpower of the highest quality to cope up with challenges of eve revolving industrial needs of the country. The institute currently runs 7 UG and 29 PG courses and research programs leading to Ph.D.
Energy Centre
MANIT was chosen as the nodal centre for energy theme under Indo-UK RECs project in 1994 by Government of India. Energy centre, MANIT Bhopal was inaugurated by the former president of India late Dr. Shankar Dayal Sharma on 12 July 1997. Energy Centre premises have a built up area of about 3000 sq m. Many associated faculty members have received extensive training in specialised fields of energy in different British Universities and industries under indo- UK RECs project. The centre has developed nine laboratories in various specialised area like energy conservation, energy audit solar thermal and PV technology, wind energy, heat transfer systems etc.
In 2004, Department of Energy was created for Post-graduate and PhD program and in 2007 it became the pioneer in India to start Under-graduate program in Energy Engineering, with intake of 40 students. Many research and development projects and consultancy projects were taken up and completed by the energy centre. The centre is currently running Two PG program; M.Tech in Renewable Energy and M.Tech in Energy System Management. The Ministry of New and Renewable Energy, MNRE Govt of India, has recognised the Energy Centre for award of Post-graduate Fellowships for M.Tech as well as Ph.D. program.

About Bhopal
Bhopal, the capital of Madhya Pradesh, known as the "City of Lakes" reflects the true combination of scenic beauty of historical and modern urban planning. The Bhopal City is very well connected via railway, road and air transportation services. Bhopal has domestic/international airport with good amenities that connects it directly to Delhi, Mumbai, Indore, Ahmadabad, and Hyderabad. The institute is about 9 km from Bhopal railway station, 07 km from Habibganj station, and 18km from Bhopal airport. Weather in Bhopal is normally pleasant in the month of Dec and temperature varies from 11-26°C.

The boarding, lodging and traveling expenses are to be borne by the participants. Hotels are available in the range of INR 1500-5000/- depending on the type of accommodation. The participants are requested to book their hotel well in advance.

How to reach us?
Air : Bhopal is well connected with daily flights from Delhi, Mumbai, Gwalior and Indore. MANIT is 16 Km from the airport.
Rail : Bhopal is best connected by train on the central and southern railways. It is well connected with trains from Mumbai, Bangalore to Delhi, Trivandrum etc. The Habibganj railway station is 5 kms & Bhopal railway station is 9 kms away from MANIT.
Bus : Bhopal is well connected with Bus service from Bhopal Transportation and Local transportation.
